For the builders of the physical world

Salon dinners.

Once a quarter, by invitation only. Twelve seats, hand-selected from the thought leaders across the pad. What is said at the table stays at the table.

The Table

How the table is set.

The format never changes. The room does.

i

One anchor operator

At the head of the table, someone who has already built what the others are building. They are asked to speak plainly about the years that did not go well.

ii

Eleven rising builders

Owners and operators still in the building years, chosen for what they are doing rather than what they are selling. No two from the same trade, so the conversation has to travel.

iii

The rule of the table

No press, no recordings, no pitches. Names may be shared afterwards. Words may not.

Invitations are personal and are not transferable. Seats that cannot be filled by the invited guest stay empty.

The Cadence

Four a year. One city each quarter.

Each dinner is held where the work is, in a city chosen for who is there rather than what is there.

Who is asked

The nominated

Operators and financiers put forward by past guests, Foundry guests, and the editorial desk.

How one is asked

By introduction

There is no application. An introduction can be requested below, and the desk will take it from there.

What is owed

Candour

The only obligation is to say what is true about your own business, in a room where everyone else is doing the same.

The guest list is never published. Alumni are told who else has sat at the table, and no one else is.

Introductions

Request an introduction.

Tell us who you are, or who we should know about. Every request is read by the editorial desk. If a seat is right, we will be in touch. If it is not yet, we will remember the name.

Yourself, or the person you are putting forward. What they built, what was risked to build it, and what it is now.

If a past guest or a member suggested you write, their name helps.

Requests are held in confidence and used only to plan the table. There is no fee to attend and no sponsor at the table.
