The Journal of American Industry
The Record of the New Industrial Age.
Partners

One name per property. No advertising.

The Industrial Capitalist is underwritten, not sponsored. Each property carries a single partner, named with restraint, by the year. Nothing else on these pages is for sale.

The Model

How it works.

Most media in this industry is paid for by whoever will pay: pre-roll reads, display advertising, sponsored episodes in which the guest is the advertiser. We do not do any of that, because it costs the one thing our readers came for, which is knowing that what they hear is what the builder actually said.

Instead, each property carries one partner. The partner’s name appears once at the open and once at the close, in the form “presented by” or “underwritten by,” and nowhere else. Partners are chosen the way guests are: they are the lenders, builders, insurers, and advisers our readers already rely on, and their association with the institution is the point. Terms run by the year, not by the download.

The Properties

What can be underwritten.

The Record

Presenting partner, by the season

One name on every episode of a season, at the open and the close, and on the episode pages.

The Summit

Underwriter, by the year

One name on the gathering, the reception in the partner’s name, and a session on the program chosen with the editorial desk.

The Journal

One partner per desk

From the Pad, People & Profiles, Land & Capital, or Beyond the Field, each carrying one name for the year.

The Energy Fifty

Presenting partner of the roll

One name on the annual roll and its announcement. The list itself is the editorial desk’s alone.

The Terms

What a partner receives, and what they never will.

Received

  • The property in the partner’s name for the term, with a single credit at the open and the close.
  • A seat at one salon dinner a year, at the table with the builders.
  • At the Summit, the reception or a named session, and a delegation.
  • First sight of the Energy Fifty before it is published.
  • The partner’s name on this page, and on the property’s pages, for the term.

Never

  • Any say in who is interviewed, who is invited, or who is named.
  • Sponsored content presented as editorial, or a guest slot on The Record.
  • Advertising: no display units, no pre-roll reads, no promoted posts.
  • Access to reader, guest, or member information.
  • More than one partner per property, or a partner whose business competes with the readers’ interests.
Season One
Founding partner

Before the first episode, a small number of founding partners underwrite the institution as a whole: The Record, the Summit, the Journal, and the Energy Fifty, for the first year, at founding terms. They are named as founding partners for as long as the institution exists.

Enquire

Open the conversation.

There is no rate card on this page, because the conversation comes first. Tell us who you are and what you build, and the publisher will answer personally.

In a sentence. We partner with the lenders, builders, insurers, and advisers our readers already rely on.

What you hope the association does for you. Optional, but it helps us answer well.

Enquiries are held in confidence. The editorial desk is not part of partnership conversations.
